Membership Benefits
Fully paid up members will enjoy the following benefits:
- Reduction of FIDSSA Congress fee of 75% of the annual FIDSSA membership fee
- Receipt of a hard copy of the Southern African Journal of Epidemiology and Infection
- Ordinary members will be granted voting privileges and eligibility for election to the Federation Council, Executive Committee or respective Council or Board of the individual Societies.
- Eligibility for financial assistance (as per individual society constitutions) for training, seminars etc.
- Access to Antibiotic Surveillance Data
- Access to ‘Case of the Week' and CPD points attached to this activity (from July 2010)
- FIDSSA NewsFlash – NICD Communique, event announcements including conferences, epidemic updates etc

Honorary
|
Any member of the Societies,
seconded by two other members of the specific Society may nominate a
person or persons for election as honorary members on the grounds of
significant national or international contribution to microbiology,
virology, infectious diseases, infection control thereof, or to the
Federation. The Council shall consider such nominations. Honorary
membership is retained for life and whilst honorary members will not
be eligible for office, they may assist in policy development.
